The different Australia Visa to enter and stay in Australia
Student Visas
- be enrolled in a course of study in Australia
- hold Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), or fall in one of the exemption categories
- must be 6 years or older
- prove you have a welfare arrangement if you are under 18
Skilled Visas
- have an occupation on the relevant skilled list
- have a suitable skills assessment for the occupation
- be invited to apply for this visa
- satisfy the points test
Employer Sponsored Visas
- must have the necessary skills for the job
- must be nominated by an Australian employer
- must meet our health and character requirements
Family Visas
- can visit Australia for up to 3 or 5 years per visa
- can apply for further visas to visit up to a maximum period in Australia of 10 years
- cannot work in Australia
Partner Visas
- This visa lets the de facto partner or spouse of an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen live in Australia temporarily. Getting this visa is the first step towards a permanent Partner visa (subclass 801).
Business Visas
- Submit an expression of interest (EOI) in SkillSelect
- Nominated by a State or Territory government agency or Austrade
- Invited to apply for the visa
